Questions
AWPR (Average Weighted Prime Lending Rate) is published weekly by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL). Most floating-rate housing and business loans are priced as AWPR + a bank margin (e.g., AWPR + 2.5%). When AWPR drops, your floating loan interest should come down too.
TT Buying is the rate banks pay you when you receive foreign money (like USD freelancer income or remittances) into Sri Lanka. TT Selling is the rate banks charge you when you pay abroad in foreign currency.
364-day T-Bill yields are the benchmark for 1-year risk-free returns in Sri Lanka. Compare your bank's 1-year FD rate against the 364-day T-Bill yield to see if your bank is offering a competitive return.
